Carving Pumpkins

Every year, our friends Brooke and Hunter have a pumpkin carving party/contest. I haven't carved pumpkins in years, but I'll say folks came up with some pretty cool stuff.

I realized why my clever idea wasn't so clever. Well, it's good to know what you're not good at!

The categories were best overall, most creative and scariest. Before I tell the winners (if I ever do) let me know what your votes are!

The Cohos Trail Unsupported FKT - A Fast-packing Adventure in the Northern Forest

Note: The photos are in chronological order. They are mostly landscape photos of the journey as I reverted back to the type of photography I most enjoy. True's Ledges in West Lebanon

It's nice to discover a cool waterfall, or series of small cascades and nice swim holes, only a half mile out of the way on the trip back home from work. A locals' favorite, I haven't been here since I was a student, a long long time ago. Playing with an ultrawide lens has been a liberating experience. I'm just glad I didn't liberate my camera down the falls. By using a three stop neutral density filter, I was able to keep my aperture at f/11, maintaining a massive depth of field but eliminating the effect of diffraction when using even smaller apertures. A benefit of low water flow is the ability to get shots that would otherwise be too dangerous. The parking is just off True's Brook Road, 0.8 miles from the junction with NH route 12A just south of the "strip." Snow Prediction Addiction! Part 1 (winter weather resources for those who love snow)

If you're like me and you love playing in the snow, you probably search the internet looking for any sign, any glimpse, that the next big storm is just around the corner. Well, I'm here to share my favorite sites for my snow prediction addiction. 1. National Weather Service Hydrometeorological Prediction Center - Probabilistic Winter Precipitation Guidance - What a mouthful! But this is MY FAVORITE , I mean it's from NOAA for goodness sakes. What I love about this is the fact that it shows the probabilities of certain amounts of snow over specific time frames. It's just three days out, but that's all I really trust anyway.
